About the Library Board
The Thorold Public Library Board operates under the authority of the Ontario Public Libraries Act (R.S.O. 1990, chapter P.44). It is responsible for making policies for the operation of the Library; for obtaining adequate funding for Library materials, services and programs; and for promoting the Library in the community. Six (6) Library Board members are appointed by Thorold City Council for a 4-year term, concurrent with the term of the appointing City Council.

Library Board regular meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month. Board meetings are open to the public.

Board Contact
Contact with the Board may be made through the Chief Librarian’s office. The Chief Librarian serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Board and is responsible for Library operations. Members of the public wishing to make a verbal or written delegation to the Library Board should contact the Board Secretary/Treasurer in writing seven (7) days in advance of the meeting. Board meeting agendas are developed by the Chair working with the Secretary.
