The Great Canadian Poetry Contest

Attention poets: get excited!  Or continue to look aloof yet slightly bemused.  Your call.  In honour of Poetry Month and Canada 150, Thorold Public Library will be holding The Great Canadian Poetry Contest. Poems must be less than 2 pages in length, submitted by Monday, May 1st at 4:00 p.m., and reflect this year’s theme: Canada. There will be three judging categories: Under 12, 12-18, and Adult. There is no cost to enter. Please indicate the appropriate age category upon submission. One winner in each category will receive a Canadiana gift basket and have their poem featured in the special Canada Day July-September issue of our newsletter. It really doesn’t get any bigger than this, folks.  Please try to stay calm.  You still have the winning entry to write.  This contest is now open!
