Homework Hub

Bring your homework after school and we provide the snacks. Complete your homework in a quiet environment with computers, free wifi and guidance in finding accurate information. Join us on Thursday, January 19th, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Check out the homework help section here

CreativiTEEN

Would you like to create art but you are not sure how? Are you looking for a crafty project? You can bring a craft you are working on to share with the group.

TalkinTEEN

Share reviews on books, video games, DVDs and magazines that the library offers on our blog in the Teen Zone.

VolunTEEN

Thorold Public Library is pleased to support young people of the community through a Community Service Hours program.  The program is designed to "encourage students to develop awareness and understanding of civic responsibility and of the role they can play and the contributions they can make in supporting and strengthening their communities."  High school students can complete up to a maximum of 10 hours in a school year.   Print a Community Service Hours Application or pick-up a copy at the library.  Completed applications may be dropped at the library and students will be contacted by staff to arrange an interview. 

Teen Advisory Group (T.A.G) 

Young people have a voice at Thorold Public Library!  The TAG is a group of teens who help staff to develop programs for young people and design the Teen Zone in the library.  They provide input for the YP collection and contribute to the Thorold Public Library’s Facebook page and website.  TAG members must be able to attend regularly scheduled meetings. If you are interested in joining the TAG team, print a Teen Advisory Group Application or pick-up a copy at the library.  Completed applications may be dropped at the library you will be contacted by staff to arrange an interview.

Game Day

Play Wii and board games with your friends! For ages 12 to 17. Join us during your Winter Break on Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. 

Zumba

A new and exciting way to stay fit! Join us on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A six week session is $30. Contact the library to register for the next 6 week session starting Wednesday, January 4th, 2012..

Tai Chi

Have you always wanted to try Tai Chi? This program is for you. Learn techniques and discover the health benefits. $5 per class. Join anytime on Monday afternoons from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Writer’s Forum

An informal monthly gathering for those who enjoy writing. Share ideas, network with others and get writing tips from guest authors. This group meets the first Monday of every month at 4 p.m. The next gathering is on Monday, January 9th, 2012.

Chess

If you play or want to learn how, join us at the library for a game of chess. No charge, any age, any skill level. Call the Library or visit our Facebook page for dates. 

March Break

Cake Decorating

For Teens and Tweens on Wednesday, March 14th, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The fee for the program is $2.00 and you must register in person.
