TumbleBooks (& more)

Experiencing increasingly peculiar dreams during dramatic times is completely normal. Last night we were called to do a librarian transfer (’cause that’s a real thing) with London, England (a natural coupling with Thorold, Ontario). Not sure if you know this, but their common area is just a field of uncut grass, so we finished the shift less jealous than expected.

Ran this through the old dream interpreter and apparently this means that we are afraid you don’t know that our TumbleBooks database also includes graphic novels, videos, language learning, puzzles & games. Well it does. Check it out under the E-Resources tab on our site. The Thorold one. Apparently we’ve transferred back.

E-Resources

Unlike larger libraries, we have to space our E-resource posts out a bit more to imply quantity. Like, today we’ll promote OverDrive/Libby. And then tomorrow we’ll promote OverDrive/Libby, but on a Thursday. We may even break it up and refer to OverDrive and then Libby and then you’re all, “Oh cool. So that’s two things?” and we’ll have to be like, “Nope. Still just the one”. It’s a really good one though. Libby. And also OverDrive.

Log in to OverDrive or the Libby, by OverDrive App with your TPL card (see our E-Resources tab).

Important Note Re: Notices

This morning we’ve been working on snags with email notifications and due date alterations. You should no longer receive due soon (or due, or overdue) notices. Yes, some did go out in error. Remember, you DO NOT owe fines on ANYTHING due during this time – whether you received a notice or not. Just ignore it. No need to contact us. We got ya. Yesterday we read an article about how to communicate with your library community during the closure and it showed a sample letter that read “Dear beloved patrons”. But we’re just going to keep things non-strange. If that’s cool with everyone.

Book Clubs

Today in book club one of our members said she thought we ran the meetings much like the therapist in our novel (apparently in a good way), and we were like, “Uh huh, uh huh. And how did that realization make you feel?” You can join any of our FIVE book clubs at any time. Call for more info: 905-227-2581 or find monthly titles under Programming – Adult.

THOROLD PUBLIC LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL MONDAY, APRIL 6TH.  ALL PROGRAMS DURING THIS TIME ARE CANCELLED.  CHECK OUR WEBSITE AND/OR SOCIAL MEDIA FOR FURTHER UPDATES.

New Material Arriving Weekly

Sometimes you excitedly read a new book title incorrectly and go, “Ooooh cool. Crystal Tips AND Curses” and then you’re like, “Oh, CURES. I guess that’s good too”.

Fresh material arrives weekly – check out our Adult, YP, & Juvenile NEW shelves.
